The fastest way to reach me is email:

billoflading@docsanddeadlines.com

I read everything. I reply to most things within a few days, though it can take longer during busy weeks.

What I'd especially like to hear about

Corrections. If a regulation citation, a claim deadline, a complaint phone number, an agency form, or a lookup screen described here no longer matches what you found, tell me — ideally with what the document or the website actually said. Moving happens in a season, and readers in the middle of one run into a changed form or a moved page long before I recheck an article. Corrections get applied and the article's "updated" date is bumped.

Gaps. If you searched for something about an estimate, a valuation choice, a surcharge, or a damage claim and every result was a moving company's blog or a quote form, that is exactly what is worth writing up. Tell me the wording you searched, too — it usually tells me what the page should be called better than I can guess.

What actually happened on your move. Not to publish your story, and never with anything that identifies you: what I want is where the paperwork diverged from the procedure — the surcharge that appeared at delivery, the re-weigh that was refused, the inventory line that sank a claim. The patterns in those emails are what tell me which article is wrong or missing a step.

What I can't help with

  • Reviewing your estimate, bill of lading, inventory, or claim file, or telling you what your particular move should cost
  • Recommending, rating, or warning you off a specific moving company, broker, container provider, or storage operator
  • Getting quotes for you, or passing your details to anyone who would — there is no quote form on this site and there will not be one
  • Contacting your mover, filing a claim, or negotiating a settlement on your behalf
  • Telling you whether to accept a settlement offer, or what your damaged property is worth
  • Legal advice of any kind, including whether to sue, where to sue, or how any deadline applies to your specific shipment
  • Anything about local or intrastate moves under state rules, which this site does not cover
  • Requests to publish sponsored posts, paid guest articles, or link insertions

If your goods are being held and you are being asked for money beyond what you agreed, that is not something an email to me can fix in time. The federal complaint route and the phone number for it are in the guide on hostage goods, and they are the first thing to use.
